Mallorca is still one of the favourite destinations for tourists and real estate property buyers.
There are many reasons to choose the Balearic Islands. Majorca's southwest area is blessed with a pleasantly mild climate. The Sierra de Tramuntana protects the region from the cold north winds in winter. The region with its most important towns Andratx, Santa Ponsa and Portals is very popular all year-round due to a good infrastructure, high-class hotels and its many golf and yacht clubs.

The southwest, which is traditionally favoured by Germans, has become the primary destination for British buyers since 2003. They are mainly looking for properties in the price range up to 500.000 euros.

New building activities in yet undeveloped plots have led to a revaluation of the region and increasing property prices. In some areas new developments have evolved to exclusive residential areas in which high quality properties are offered at reasonable prices.

The small seaport of Puerto de Andratx is possibly the most sought after and expensive area of Majorca. The numerous exclusive villas and stately homes on the hillside feature spectacular views over the surrounding landscape and the sea. Apart from its marina, Puerto de Andratx offers a broad range of sports and leisure time activities, as well as exquisite restaurants, bars and many shopping facilities.
